Office 2008 was released in January 2008 it is therefore now very nearly 8 years old. This in computing terms is an eternity even taking in to account Microsoft's rather lethargic progress in releasing new Office for Mac versions. Office 2011 was released in October 2010 so even it is now over five years old. If you want to run old or in this case extremely old software you are of course completely at liberty to do or try doing so but no one forced you to upgrade your operating system. Either you need to switch away from Office to an alternative or you need to buy a newer version of Office which is supported by Microsoft and will therefore be compatible with the current Mac operating system.
