Connect To Skype For Business Web Meeting From Mac Desktop Client
The computer should have the latest operating system updates, audio and video drivers, and software application updates to make connecting to a Skype for Business Online meeting a successful experience. Here’s an overview of the new Skype for Business 2016 Mac client. As stated in the introduction, anyone can now download Skype for Business for Mac from Microsoft. The system requirements for Skype for Business on Mac are OS X 10.11 El Capitan or macOS Sierra 10.12.
I tried these two scenarios trying to get screen sharing functionality using the skype for business web meetings app. Both scenarios failed. Mac user with installed Lync app sent Lync meeting invite via outlook to PC gmail user • Mac user COULD share their screen, PC gmail user COULD NOT share their screen • Steps taken: • User installed Skype for Business Web Meetings App > • Created guest name > • Joined meeting > • Selected video call > • Clicked share icon > • Selected share screen (tried all other options too) • COULD NOT share any of the options • Notes: • Tested on Chrome & IE • Didn’t see any issues with firewall settings 2. Mac and PC gmail users both had Skype for Business Web Meetings App installed • Both users COULD NOT share their screens or any other sharing options (attachments, etc.) How can I get these skype for business web meetings app scenarios to share their screen? The options show as available, but when clicked nothing happens. Hi joy, according to the, only the presenter of the meeting can share the screen in the skype for business web app. So, is the mac user the presenter of the skype for business web app meeting?
I’ve run a test from my side. I scheduled a skype for business web app meeting by using the. Setting up outlook on mac.
I signed in to the web scheduler with my office 365 account. On the new meeting page, i typed the event name, message and added a gmail user as the attendee in the “attendees and audio” field.
Under “ who is the presenter”, i chose myself as the presenter. Clicked save.
After that, i downloaded the skype meetings app plug-in and opened the skype for business web app meeting by clicking the meeting url. I didn’t enter the guest name. Instead, i clicked “sign in if you are an office 365 user” and signed in with my office 365 account. Then, i can share the screen by clicking the “share screen” button. Meanwhile, i scheduled another skype for business web app meeting in the skype for business web scheduler and selected “ everyone including people outside my company” as the presenter.
And both the gmail user and myself can share the screen by clicking the “share screen” button. In conclusion, if you want both the gmail user and the office 365 user to share their screens, you can choose “ everyone including people outside my company” as the presenter under “who is the presenter” when scheduling a skype for business web app meeting in the skype for business web scheduler.
If you want specific user to share their screen, you can choose specific user as presenter of the skype for business web meeting in the skype for business web scheduler. If you encounter any other problems when sharing the screen by referring to the description of mine, please don’t hesitate to post back. We will provide you with further assistance. Thanks, mouran.
Last Updated: September 17, 2018 You can now finally. The final version was released late on 26th October 2016 although Microsoft slipped it out quietly overnight as there was no until later. The to the new client was also released on November 22nd to include contact group management, contact tagging and stability improvements. Note that if you’re still using the Preview of Skype for Business on Mac, you can install the final release alongside it – it won’t copy over the Preview installation. Microsoft does recommend uninstalling Lync 2011 first as it may conflict with the new client. Here we take a closer look at the new Skype for Business Mac.
How can i design an email template in mail for mac. I’m more likely to use email templates with my work account. Thus, nearly every time I use this app, I need to modify the “from”/sender address.
The long awaited release of the Skype for Business Mac client was delayed in Q3 by Microsoft. It was originally due for release in Q3 2016 but then revised to October 2016 although this seemed increasingly unlikely as October drew to a close. Even just a few days ago “we aren’t able to provide the exact date when Skype for Business 2016 Mac Client will be released”. It’s now clear that Microsoft simply left it very late in the month to release Skype for Business on Mac. SfB has been long awaited on Mac to replace the highly unreliable and maligned which hasn’t been updated by Microsoft since 2011. Until now, Mac users have either been stuck with the Lync or had to use or the recently released service in the meantime (more on those two later). Here’s an overview of the new Skype for Business 2016 Mac client.
