As a default, in the output PDF from your LaTeX code pops up in a separate window. I prefer the PDF to be in the same window as my code so I don't have to switch between windows as much, however. So how do you get the PDF to show-up in the same window as your.tex code. • Click Texmaker > Preferences • Under 'Commands' tab, under 'PDF Viewer,' check “Embed.” • If you have a small screen, like I do, you can’t really see this option (see screenshot below!), and there is no way to expand the window. (Hello Texmaker! I love your software, but this is an issue).

Final You can also track things such as how often Character A interacts with Character B.

Hope that helps somebody! I'm using OSX 10.9.5.

When submitting a paper, book or article for publications, the publisher will often require that all fonts be embedded. Check for Embedded Fonts To check whether the fonts are all embedded in your PDF file or not: • Open your PDF file • Click File> Document Properties • Click on the Fonts Tab to display the list of all fonts • All fonts are either Type 1 or TrueType fonts • All fonts should show as “Embedded Subset” Embed Standard Fonts Using PDF/A Conversion Using, you can convert PDF documents to PDF/A under Document > Preflight, which among other things will embed fonts into the PDF.

Standard fonts as well as system fonts will be embedded (as long as the fonts allow embedding). Embed Other Fonts By Printing to PDF You can also use the following workarounds to embed other fonts with a PDF document: On Windows: Use the freeware CutePDF Writer which is a PDF printer driver. Once installed, it will show up under your list of printers in the print dialog. You can print your PDF from PDF Studio or any other PDF viewer to CutePDF Writer. This will save a new “printed copy” of your PDF document with all fonts embedded. Beware that all the interactive features of the PDF document will be removed as well so make sure to save as a new PDF file. On Mac: Open a pdf with non-embedded fonts in PDF Studio or Preview and then Print->Save as PDF creates one with fonts embedded.

How come is does the PDFviewer keep showing the old PDF until i use Texmaker to compile the texmaker? Skype for business network configuration. I want the embedded PDFviewer in texmaker to update, the PDF it shows even though i don't use texmaker to compile the.tex file.

On Linux: Use gs -q -dNOPAUSE -dBATCH -dPDFSETTINGS=/prepress -sDEVICE=pdfwrite -sOutputFile=output.pdf input.pdf.

MacTeX is usually compared to TeX Live as far as compilers. I prefer TeX Live because I use sublime-text as an editor and it (only?) works with TL. But if you're on a mac, I would highly recommend using TeX Shop as your editor. I really liked using that when I used to do most of my work on my old macbook.

I believe TeX Shop works only with MacTeX. If you're only using Windows, I would recommend TeXnicCenter as your editor. I don't think TC cares if you are using either mactex or texlive. As an editor TeXMaker is nice because it's cross-platform so if you're working on a linux machine at work and then go home to a windows machine, you can have consistency in your editor. But I believe the best cross-platform solution is getting Sublime Text working as your editor -- sublimetext can also build the pdf and jump-to-current location, etc. It takes a lot more work to set up than any of the out-of-the-box options but it's fantastic once you get it going.

MacTeX is TeXLive – just bundled as an OS X package with some specific goodies (like TeXShop). Sublime Text will work with MacTeX. (When I tried out ST, I compiled a few documents to get a feel for the flow.) TeXShop will be most similar to online compilers so that you can make the switch as painlessly as possible, but I do recommend OP switch to a more powerful editor down the line: TeXmaker, ST, Emacs, and Vim are all good choices (Emacs being my favorite), and they're all cross-platform.

Jump-to-current location This isn't specific to ST; it's a technology called SyncTeX and is available with any editor that implements it. If I might ask, what troubles are you having with ST? Shit i meant miktex everywhere i said mactex edit: responding to your question. I'm not having issues with ST, but setting it up on linux required some editing of the latextools package settings that i think a first-timer would be more annoyed with than if they used an editor like texmaker or texnic center. But when i first got it running, i thought i remembered the readme saying that miktex doesn't come with latexmk which was needed to compile from within ST.
