MILTON– They got their man State police say they’ve made an arrest in connection with the sexual assaults and attempted sexual assaults that occurred in The Valley in recent years. State police say they arrested 43-year-old John Kurtz of Shamokin for a series of sexual crimes that occurred between November of 2012 and April of 2017. Kurtz has been charged with the kidnapping and rape of two women and the attempted kidnapping of a third woman in Northumberland County. Troopers say Kurtz was identified as the suspect through DNA and digital evidence. Kurtz is a corrections officer currently assigned to SCI Coal Township. Kurtz was arraigned Monday afternoon in front of District Judge Mike Diehl on $1.5 million cash bail.
