It even has single-pass scanning, so you can scan both sides of a document at the same time! Why laser over ink? Laser printers have a ton of advantages over your typical inkjet printers and are a very viable option for at home use. Laser printers will save you money in the long run. Although your average toner cartridge for a laser printer is more expensive than an ink cartridge, toner lasts a lot longer and because its a powder, it can't dry out over time.
Plus, laser printers offer much sharper lines than inkjet, meaning small text is much easier to read as it always comes out crisp and clear. Of course, laser printers aren't quite as good at printing photos as a high-quality inkjet printer would be, because inkjets can often have up to six or more different colors of ink allowing them to blend colors together smoothly and produce more colors. Overall, I'm very happy with my for my home office. It's compact, simple, and quite fast at printing large documents, and since I never need to print anything in color, I don't mind that it's monochrome. Also something to think about: With Lexmark you are going to pay out of your rear end for print cartridges. Not only are they expensive, they don't last very long either. Dji assistant 2 v1.1.2 download. With Lexmark usually your black text is very sharp and clean, but color printing leaves something to be desired. HP has better ink prices for their black ink cartridges.
Print quailty is average on both text and pictures. Epson has average text and excellent photos. About text printing, but photos are excellent. These are pretty broad, I know, but i've found them to be generally true. Love my HP 4215 all in one. HATE Epson; slow, weirdly hard to work.
Gave my almost new HP regular deskjet to my parents as their Epson was too much trouble for them. Piece of junk. Real piece of junk. Only had one because it came free with a PB I bought. It did weird things too, like taking ten minutes to print one page.
Also, Lexmark ink somehow gunked up the high speed xerox copy machine at my local printshop, causing me numerous business embarassments as there were pages missing on things sent to my agent. I had an old HP 300 that I paid 650 dollars for new in the early nineties that STILL would work great if I could use it (I donated it). Seems to me that HP is way more Mac friendly than Canon, Epson or Lexmark. (also, I get free reams of paper from local Office Depot for old cartridges) HP rules.
But that's just me. And I'm picky. I have an HP all-in-one printer/scanner/copier, PSC-1215. Very compact and was pretty cheap considering it's an all-in-one. I didn't want to spend a lot because i only print & copy occasionally. Overall I am pleased with it; the print quality is very good, but it has a very clunky sound when starting up (i think this is normal for most budget inkjet printers though) and occasionally it pulls in more than one sheet of paper and gets jammed, which is rather annoying. I have it connected to an Airport Express so i can print wirelessly and that works really well.
